I’m Amy, a size advocate and future midwife. My posts here range from 101 posts about women’s health care, midwifery, doula care,  Health at Every Size® and size advocacy, to plus size shopping tips (challenging in the best of times), as well as posts about what I’m currently learning- scholastically or in the wild.

What a wonderful blog! I’m particularly excited to hear about your HAES training. I wonder whether you’d be willing to talk a little more about your background (training for CNM? CPM? what state?). Or perhaps you might post an “email me” link so that your readers can correspond with you?

I’m really looking forward to learning more about your experiences as you continue your with your midwife training and your exploration of the world of HAES and size acceptance. It is a great gift to a fat mom to have a midwife who understands the territory and works from a place of encouragement rather than a place of fear. Actually, come to think of it, this is true for moms of all sizes.

Thanks for doing what you do!

I will be doing CNM training. I just finished my bachelors degree and am headed to nursing school, then midwifery school. In a few years, I’ll be practicing in Denver, CO.

The HAES training was amazing, and I’m in the midst of a post now.

Thank you for your patience as I continue to get the blog put together. It took off faster than I expected! I’ll have a contact me page and an FAQ fairly shortly.

Thank you for the recommendations and the interest.
